Located between Routes 29 and 32 near Broken Land Parkway, the East Columbia 50+ Center currently operates in a wing in the East Columbia Branch of the Howard County Library System on Cradlerock Way. The long-awaited new East Columbia 50+ Center with over 29,000 square feet will be built on the same campus, with $5.5 million approved in the FY2022 capital budget and an additional $1 million in state funding. Construction will commence in Fall 2021.

For those who prefer to maintain their our optimal health and wellness without leaving the comfort of home, the Howard County Office on Aging & Independence will continue to offer virtual programs and virtual fitness pass classes in addition to in-person options to engage, inspire and motivate you. Our GO50+ membership packages are designed to enhance the quality of life for the 50+ adult population that lives, works, and plays in Howard County. Live longer, healthier lives… join today! The basic membership is free and includes access to the Gary J. Arthur and North Laurel Community Centers and all Howard County 50+ Centers. The GO50+ Fitness membership ($75/year) adds use of the fitness rooms at 50+ centers, plus access to the Roger Carter Recreation Center. The GO50+ Pool membership ($175/year) includes all GO50+ benefits plus use of the Roger Carter Center pool.
