Howard County Government offices will be closed on the following dates for holiday observances.
The Alpha Ridge Landfill is open and regularly scheduled trash, recycling, food scraps and yard trim curbside collection will occur unless otherwise indicated below.

2022
January 1 - New Year's
Landfill is closed. Residents who live in Historic Ellicott City and its nearby communities who normally receive Saturday trash collection, your Saturday trash collection will take one day earlier. That is, Saturday, January 1st collection will take place on Friday, December 31st.
January 17 - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Landfill is open; regular trash, recycling, food scraps and yard trim curbside collection.
February 21 - President's Day
Landfill is open; regular trash, recycling, food scraps and yard trim curbside collection.
April 15 - Good Friday
Landfill is open; regular trash, recycling, food scraps and yard trim curbside collection.
May 30 - Memorial Day
Landfill is closed. No trash, recycling, food scraps and yard trim curbside collection; holiday slide schedule holiday slide schedule is in effect.
June 20 - Juneteenth National Freedom Day
Landfill is open; regular trash, recycling, food scraps and yard trim curbside collection.
July 4 - Independence Day
Landfill is closed. No trash, recycling, food scraps and yard trim curbside collection; holiday slide schedule is in effect.
September 5 - Labor Day
Landfill is closed. No trash, recycling, food scraps and yard trim curbside collection; holiday slide schedule is in effect.
October 10 - Indigenous Peoples' Day
Landfill is open; regular trash, recycling, food scraps and yard trim curbside collection.
November 11 - Veterans Day
Landfill is open; regular trash, recycling, food scraps and yard trim curbside collection.
November 24 & 25- Thanksgiving Holiday
Landfill is closed on 11/24. No trash, recycling, food scraps and yard trim curbside curbside collection on 11/24; holiday slide schedule is in effect
December 26 - Christmas
Landfill is open; regular trash, recycling, food scraps and yard trim curbside collection. Please note, the Landfill is closed on the 12/25.
