Long Term Services and Supports
Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS) are provided in home and community-based settings, as well as in assisted living facilities.
LTSS target individuals over 65, individuals with physical disabilities, individuals with intellectual disabilities, chronically ill children, and individuals eligible for both Medicaid and Medicare. Medicaid covers certain services available to these participants based on medical necessity and financial eligibility.

Maryland’s Home and Community-Based Options Waiver provides community services and supports to enable older adults and people with physical disabilities to live in their own homes.
Maryland’s Community First Choice option provides community services and supports to enable older adults and people with disabilities to live in their own homes.
Maryland’s Community Personal Assistance Services program provides community services and supports to enable older adults and people with disabilities to live in their own homes.
Maryland’s Increased Community Services program allows eligible individuals in nursing facilities to return to the community and receive services and supports in their own homes.
