ELLICOTT CITY, MD – The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) announced this morning that Howard County’s Mount View Middle School is one of six Maryland public schools to be recognized as a Blue Ribbon school for the 2019-20 year.

The Blue Ribbon Schools Program is a state and national program that recognizes schools based on state assessment scores in mathematics and English language arts (ELA).

"I'm delighted to hear that the Maryland State Department of Education has named Mount View Middle School a Blue Ribbon School,” said County Executive Calvin Ball. “Congratulations to the students, educators, and the entire Falcon community for this honor. Howard County is home to one of the best school systems in the nation, and we're always proud when that is recognized by our state."

Other Howard County schools earning Blue Ribbon honors in prior years include Centennial Lane, Clarksville, Manor Woods and Waterloo elementary schools, Burleigh Manor, Clarksville, Ellicott Mills, Folly Quarter, Hammond and Lime Kiln middle schools, and River Hill High School.
