Join us for a discussion of the impact of Preconception Health on maternal and infant outcomes with Dr. Donna Neale and Dr. Abby Aina
Healthy pregnancies start long before conception. Infant Mortality and Maternal Morbidity and Mortality remain high in the United States compared with other high-income countries, especially among families of color. Many of the modifiable risk factors for poor pregnancy outcomes, like diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and lack of social supports or resources, occur well before conception. High quality preconception care, including referrals to social and environmental health resources can greatly improve a mother's chance for a healthy life, healthy pregnancy, and ultimately a healthy baby.
