Rebuilding Together, Howard County, (RTHC) a long standing 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, for the first time in it’s 29 year history demolished and rebuilt an entire house in Ellicott City. During RTHC’s history, they have focused on making substantial repairs to homes, in order to keep families warm, safe and dry and preventing further disrepair.
However, due to the condition of the Greene property following the devastating Ellicott City floods, RTHC had to do something different, which meant demolishing the house and rebuilding from the ground up. As Ann Heavner, the organization’s Executive Director stated, “This is the victory we are celebrating today!” The project began in late 2019, and was completed in August 2020, allowing Mrs. Greene to move into her brand new home, formerly a home that hadn’t had central heating or cooling.
