UPDATE (June 10): Police believe they have located the white Jeep suspected in the June 5 fatal hit-and-run in Ellicott City. There is no additional information at this time, but the investigation is ongoing. Police no longer need the public’s assistance in this case and will update as new information becomes available.

Howard County police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a white Jeep Wrangler that struck and killed a pedestrian in Ellicott City on Sunday, June 5 at 11:07 p.m. Investigators are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information.
The body of Michael Kevin Fitzpatrick, 54, was found by a passerby on the side of Old Frederick Road (Route 99) near Weatherstone Drive around 8 a.m. on Monday, June 6. Investigators believe Fitzpatrick was walking alongside or in the travel portion of the roadway when he was struck.
Police obtained video from a nearby residence that showed a white Jeep Wrangler near the scene. They also located a piece of the Jeep’s white fender nearby and expect that the vehicle has front-end damage, likely on the passenger’s side.
