Daisy Road Culvert Repair to Begin
A developer project to install two concrete headwalls at an existing stream culvert in the vicinity of 1430 Daisy Road in Woodbine is expected to begin on or about Tuesday, June 2. Howard County Receives $9.7 Million from U.S. Treasury for Rental Assistance
Today, Howard County Executive Calvin Ball announced the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) was awarded a $9.7 million grant from the U.S. Department of Treasury to provide rent and utility assistance. The funds can be used to pay up to nine months of past due rent or utilities for residents that suffered a COVID-related loss of income, reduction in hours, or medical illness. Residents that already received three or six months of rental assistance, as well as residents that are still unemployed, could be eligible for additional assistance from this grant. Household income limits apply.

Howard County Begins Bidding Process for Ellicott City Safe & Sound Retention Pond
The bidding process has commenced for the H7 pond that is to be constructed within the northeast loop ramp of the US 29/US 40 interchange. Part of County Executive Ball's Ellicott City Safe & Sound plan, the pond will help mitigate flooding in historic Ellicott City by capturing stormwater runoff from the upper parts of the Hudson Branch Watershed and detaining it for longer periods of time.

Howard County Executive Calvin Ball has announced a second vaccination clinic will be opening at the Athletics and Fitness Center at Howard Community College (on January 25th. The new clinic will be able to administer approximately 1,500 doses of vaccine every day, depending on vaccine supply from the State.
