A Howard County stormwater management construction project to install of curb and gutter, repave pavement and make improvements to the existing storm drain system at 4301 MD 32 in Dayton, is expected to begin on or about Monday, August 9th. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by late October.  

The suspect is charged with first-degree murder and assault, and numerous weapons violations.

A Howard County construction project to install a temporary asphalt sidewalk between 9325 Snowden River Parkway and Berger Road, connecting to an existing sidewalk along Snowden River Parkway, in Columbia. Signs will be posted in the area to direct traffic as the right lane of eastbound Snowden River Parkway will be closed at the site, as needed, during construction hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

A Howard County construction project to mill and resurface the roadway at the Homewood Road, Folly Quarter Road and Sheppard Lane traffic circle in Ellicott City. During the project, the roundabout will be closed and traffic will follow a clearly marked detour using Sheppard Lane and MD 108.

Today, Howard County Executive Calvin Ball announced that 80% of eligible Howard County residents are fully vaccinated according to the Maryland Department of Health, becoming the first county in the state to achieve this metric.

Established by Howard County Council Bill No. 82-2021, starting April 1, 2022, the minimum wage in Howard County will increase to $14.00 for employers and $12.50 for small employers. A series of local minimum wage increases for employees working in Howard County will take place over a four year time period, with the minimum wage reaching $16.00 per hour by July 1, 2026.
